Championship standings<\/span><\/h2>\n

  • The <\/span>overall ranking<\/b> is established by adding up the points from each round.<\/span>\n

    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • In the event of a tie :<\/span>\n

    <\/p>\n

    1. We look at the <\/span>final position of the last round of competition<\/b> (the highest ranked goes first).<\/span>\n

      <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. If necessary, we go back to the previous round, and so on.<\/span>
      <\/span>Example: driver absent or disqualified.<\/span>\n

      <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n

    3. Each driver therefore obtains a unique <\/span>final position for each round. <\/b>This allows the championship to be run without ties.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Round classification<\/span><\/h2>\n

      At the end of each round, the cumulative qualifying and Top 16 points are added together to give a final heat position. <\/span>All drivers receive an official final position<\/b>even those who do not qualify for the Top 16.<\/span><\/p>\n

                • Driver A: 64 pts in qualifying, not qualified for the Top 16.<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Driver B: 0 pt in qualifying, also unqualified.<\/span>
                  <\/span>Driver A will be ranked ahead of Driver B, even if the latter had a better championship ranking before the event.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>

                  In the extremely rare <\/span>extremely rare<\/b> where two drivers finish with the same point total <\/span>total points<\/b> in 3rd position:<\/span><\/p>\n

                  • Driver A: finished 4th in the table \u2192 76 pts + qualified 1st (5 pts) = 81 pts overall<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Driver B: finished 3rd in the table \u2192 80 pts + qualified 10th (1 pt) = 81 pts overall<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Progression through the table (Top 16) is what counts:<\/span>
